International Cooperation Research Center of China Communications Sensor Networks for Modern Transportation

In September 2015, the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China approved the construction of International Cooperation Research Center of China Communications Sensor Networks for Modern Transportation (hereinafter referred to as "the research center"). The research center will commit itself to researching and developing key theories and technologies of vehicle communication and sensor networks that adapt to modern transportation driving security, traffic control and intelligent transportation big data application. The research directions include: key theories and technologies of high-mobility broadband wireless communication, key technologies of vehicle networking V2X, new safety networks for rail transit communication signal systems, distributed broadband access networks for rail transit, and optical fiber sensing application for rail transit. Prof. Fan Pingzhi, Chief Scientist of the National Basic Research Program (“973 Program”), a winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and IEEE Fellow holds the post of Director of the research center.
