I. Supporting Categories, Duration and Instruction Language

Supporting categories: Chinese Government Scholarship programs sponsor excellent international students, teachers and scholars to undertake degree studies （master and doctor） and Chinese language study or academic research in institutions of higher education in China.

Duration: Chinese Government Scholarship covers both major study and Chinese language (preparatory) study. The table below illustrates the duration of each program:

(Note: The supporting duration is subject to the determined stud duration including major study and Chinese language (preparatory) study.

Note: The final names of majors are subject to the final approval of the CSC and admission letter.

5. Eligibility:

l Applicants shall be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, and be in good health.

l Be a master’s degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for the doctoral programs;

l Be a bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for the master’s programs

7. Application Documents:

    1） Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (written in Chinese or English);

     2）Notarized highest diploma;

          Prospective diploma recipients must submit official document issued by your current school to prove your current student status or expected graduation date. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized        Chinese or English translations.

     3）Academic transcripts (written in Chinese or English);

Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.

4）A Study Plan or Research Proposal (written in Chinese or English);

This should be a minimum of 200 words for the undergraduate program applicants and 800 words for postgraduate program applicants.

     5）Two Recommendation Letters (written in Chinese or English);

     Applicants for undergraduate program and postgraduate program must submit two recommendation letters signed by professors or associate professors.

     6）A Copy of applicant’s passport; Please carefully plan your passport with more than 6 months.

     7）A CD of your own works (only required for arts students）

     Applicants for music studies are requested to submit a CD of their own musical works. Applicants for the fine arts programs must submit a CD of their own works which include two sketches, two color paintings and two other works.

     8）Applicants under the age of 18 must submit relevant documents about their statutory guardians in China.  

     9）Foreigner Physical Examination Form (photocopy) (The original copy will be kept by yourself and the form is uniformly printed by Chinese healthy quarantine departments. It must be written in English and can be downloaded from http://www.csc.edu.cn/studyinchina or http://www.campuschina.org)

         The physical examinations must cover all of the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete forms or forms without the signature of the attending physician, or the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicant are considered as invalid. Please carefully plan your physical examination schedule as the result is valid for only 6 months.

10) Students whose instruction language is Chinese must pass the HSK 4 test or above; Students whose instruction language is English and are non-native speaker must hold the excellent English skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing and can smoothly communicate professional research with the supervisor. Please upload the copy of TOFEL, IELTS or other English skill certificate if you have.

The "Chinese university Program" is a full scholarship program offering to the provincial educational administration departments and Chinese universities in some provinces and autonomous regions of China. It is applied to some Chinese universities to directly select and recruit outstanding foreign young students to study in China. This program of SWJTU only enrolls doctoral students and master students in 2020.

VI. Others

1. Pre-admission Notice will not be provided in CSC-Chinese University Program.

2. Professors or related schools may interview the applicant by phone or internet. Please make sure the phone number and email address are right in your application.

3. Students who apply the CSC-Bilateral Program and      want a pre-admission notice MUST get the “Scholarship Certificate” and then apply on SWJTU application system（http://iso.swjtu.edu.cn）. After getting approval of academic materials from professors and related school, you will obtain the pre-admission notice.      
   Then you need to apply on CSC application system again（www.csc.edu.cn）.
