Recently, Biosurface and Biotribology (BSBT), an international academic journal sponsored by Southwest Jiaotong University, has been included into the “China Science and Technology Journal Empowerment and Expansion Plan” sponsored by the China Association for Science and Technology. Through this national-level initiative, high-potential scientific journals are identified and recognized for incubation, which will accelerate quality development of the University’s international journals.

Launched in 2015, BSBT is an international, interdisciplinary, and high-quality open-access journal. It focuses on research results of tribology theory and technology of biosurfaces, design and manufacturing of biomimetic surfaces, advanced biomaterials and functional coatings, surface modification technology for biomaterial/medical device, etc. in the fields of biosurface, biotribology, and bionic-tribology.

Prof. Zhou Zhongrong, Vice President of the University, serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the journal. Already being selected for the China Association for Science and Technology’s “Project for Enhancing International Impact of China STM Journals”, BSBT is also indexed by internationally renowned databases including ESCI, EI Compendex, and Scopus.
