From June 10 to 12, delegations from five universities including the Bandung Institute of Technology (Indonesia), Khon Kaen University (Thailand), Tashkent State Technical University (Uzbekistan), Budapest University of Technology and Economics (Hungary), and Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport (Vietnam) visited Southwest Jiaotong University in succession. President Yan Xuedong and Vice President Zhou Zhongrong of the University held separate talks with the delegations, focusing on deepening international education cooperation and promoting collaborative research.
On June 11, a delegation led by Rector Tatacipta Dirgantara from the Bandung Institute of Technology paid visit to the University. Both sides discussed issues on the establishment of the “Tianyou-Pan Asia Railway Institute”, joint undergraduate-to-doctoral programs, international training initiatives, industry-academia partnerships, and collaborative researches.
On June 12, a delegation headed by President Charnchai Panthongviriyakul from Khon Kaen University visited the University. At the meeting, President Yan Xuedong proposed to further the development of the “Tianyou Railway Institute” at Khon Kaen University, exploring innovative models for talent cultivation and shared research platforms. He highlighted the University’s wish to shape the Institute into a core hub for regional rail transit education collaboration.

A delegation led by Vice Rector Shavkat Azimov from Tashkent State Technical University also visited the University in recent days. The two parties held discussions on cooperation models and operational mechanisms for the establishment of the “Tianyou Railway Institute”.

Vice Rector Nguyen Anh Tuan of Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport led a delegation to visit the University. Both sides discussed joint talent cultivation, textbook development, and research collaboration, planning to enhance talent training through dual-degree programs, cooperate in developing teaching materials, and promote academic exchange via joint research projects.

During the visit of Vice Dean Péter Mándoki of the Faculty of Transportation Engineering and Vehicle Engineering from Budapest University of Technology and Economics to the University, the two institutions held talks on research cooperation related to the Hungary-Serbia Railway and joint undergraduate/master’s exchange programs.

On June 12, all delegations from the five universities attended the “Roundtable on Connectivity Empowered by Transportation Science and Technology” at the 2nd Conference on Science and Technology Exchange in Chengdu, sharing experiences and discussing development strategies for technological innovation and international cooperation in transportation.
