“Study in China”National-Level Study Tour Group Visits SWJTU

The morning of June 27 marked the commencement of the featured Course Module of “Exploring China’s High-Speed Railway System”, developed by the University and selected into the “Study in China” program of China Service Center for Scholarly Exchange’s (CSCSE). Students from U.S. high schools, including La Cañada High School and Hamilton High School, gathered to embark on a 14-day immersive journey, delving into China’s high-speed rail technology and traditional culture. Vice President Guozheng Kang attended the opening ceremony.

The Course Module offered American students an up-close experience of the innovation, dynamism, and developmental momentum of “China Speed” through the unique lens of China’s high-speed rail technology, establishing a highly attractive platform to foster mutual understanding between the youths from both countries and expand new paradigm in education opening-up.  

Upon arrival in Chengdu, students attended a lecture on “China’s High-Speed Rail Development”, learned to practice traditional Tai Chi, and operated the Fuxing high-speed train simulator. Other places of interests in their itinerary included Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, Dujiangyan Irrigation System, Chengdu Museum, and Sichuan Science and Technology Museum. In addition, they would take a ride on a high-speed train to visit the Yibin Research Institute of SWJTU for specialized study and CRRC Intelligent Rail Transit Co., Ltd. to experience the hydrogen-powered intelligent transportation system firsthand.
