2025 China-US Young Maker Competition Chengdu Division

On June 15–16, 2025, the Chengdu Division of the China-US Young Maker Competition, co-hosted by the Chengdu Municipal Education Bureau and the University, was held in the Gymnasium on Xipu Campus.

On the afternoon of June 16, the panel of judges with 15 experts from different universities, research institutions, and enterprises announced 8 first prizes, 16 second prizes, and 40 third prizes, along with special recognitions of Cross-Border Team Awards. Winning projects span fields from biomedicine, multimedia, artificial intelligence, and handicrafts. Teams from the University and its alumni team won 4 first prizes, 6 second prizes, and 7 third prizes.

With the theme of “Co-Making the Future”, the competition focused on resilient communities, clean energy, climate change, and green transportation, encouraging the young to integrate futuristic thinking with innovative design and develop products with cutting-edge technologies and open-source tools. The Chengdu Division attracted more than 1,000 participants from over 200 teams, of which nearly 300 from 63 teams advanced to the regional finals.
