On May 16, the launch ceremony of the Alumni Global Flag Relay for the University’s 130th Anniversary was held on its Tangshan Campus. Gao Pingping, Deputy Secretary of the CPC SWJTU Committee, and Cai Qinghua, former Vice Minister of Railways and a student of 1965 from the Department of the Bridge and Tunnel Engineering, attended the ceremony.

Throughout 130 Years, the Torch Burns Bright; Flags unfurl Across Seas, Future Forged in Light. This university flag, embodying the University’s glory for a century and the enduring spirit of its community, has embarked on a nationwide relay from its birthplace—Tangshan, Hebei. It will reach its final destination in Chengdu, Sichuan, on May 15, 2026, the 130th anniversary of the University, carrying heartfelt blessings to celebrate this historic milestone.
