On the afternoon of November 6, a delegation led by Måns Svensson, President of Jönköping University (Sweden), paid a visit to the University. President Yan Xuedong met with the delegation and the two universities jointly signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Collaboration.
Yan Xuedong extended a warm welcome to the delegation on behalf of the University. He introduced to the guests the University’s history of 129 years, and elaborated on its strategies and practices in serving the Belt and Road Initiative and advancing educational internationalization. Focusing on future cooperation, Yan proposed at the meeting to promote Chinese-Foreign Cooperation in Running Schools and building an international talent-training channel featuring “China-Sweden collaboration”, to integrate prestigious resources to jointly pursue major research projects, and to build a high-level academic interactive platform by co-hosting international academic conferences and facilitating mutual visits between teachers and students.
Måns Svensson expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and appreciated the University’s remarkable achievements in rail transit and higher education. He briefly introduced Jönköping University’s practices in integrating business entrepreneurship education with engineering disciplines, and fully agreed to the cooperative proposals, hoping to further cooperation between the two sides, especially in research fields of mutual interest. He also suggested to jointly explore innovative models of talent cultivation.
In witness of all present, the presidents officially signed the Memorandum of Understanding, laying a solid foundation for enhanced cooperation in talent cultivation, scientific research, and teacher-student exchanges in the future.
