“The Most Beautiful Female College Student in Sichuan Province 2019”, a title of honour, was recently bestowed upon Yang Shuqing, a student at the School of Humanities, Southwest Jiaotong University, by Sichuan Women's Federation, Education Department of Sichuan Provincial Government, and Internet Information Office of Sichuan Provincial Party Committee.

Yang is an undergraduate of 2019 at the University as well as a race-walking athletic of the Athletics Team of Sichuan Province. In 2019, on behalf of Sichuan Province, she won the third prize for 20 km team walk at the National Race Walking Grand Prix and the second prize for 50 km at the National Walking Championships. Previously, she won the first prize for 50 km walk at the 2017 Chinese Athletics Championships and the third prize for 50 km at the 2017 London World Championships in Athletics. She was awarded the “National First-Class Sports Medal”.

This beautiful girl came from the grasslands of Inner Mongolia Prairie. When she was a child, the gallant postures of athletes on the podium wearing the Chinese national flag planted a sports dream in her little heart. Despite the difficulties, she is always self-disciplined and keeps on challenging new heights. She has experienced the pain, the physical limits, and the near mental collapse. She has also watched the halfway departure of her teammates who shared sweat and toil with her. But she bit the bullet and "walked" the way to the podium of the World Race Walking Championships, winning glory for the country. In 2019, she entered the University to start her undergraduate studies, beginning a different journey on campus.
