On December 26, Xi Yue, an alumnus of the School of Economics and Management and the winner of the 2023 “Si-Shi-Yang-Hua” Medal (Persevering in the Self-improvement for the Rejuvenation of Chinese Nation), the highest honor for students of Southwest Jiaotong University, was featured on and graced the cover of the 2024 Forbes “30 Under 30” China List. The List recognizes 30 high-achievers under the age of 30 across various fields.

The Forbes “30 Under 30” China List is a renowned global recognition program that celebrates the achievements of young talents under 30 who have demonstrated their exceptional talent and creativity across multiple fields such as science, business, and culture.
Xi Yue, a 2024 doctoral student of the School of Economics and Management, is co-founder of Beijing ROBOTERA Technology Co., Ltd., assistant researcher and postdoctoral fellow at Tsinghua University, a student of a joint PhD program at the National University of Singapore supported by CAS (China Scholarship Council), and former Secretary-General of the Chinese Marketing Association of PhD Students. As a prolific researcher, he has led and contributed to over 10 national and provincial-level research projects, and published more than 20 high-impact papers both domestically and internationally. His work has earned him over 50 national, provincial and university-level awards and honors.
While at the University, Xi stood out for academic excellence and extracurricular activities. He ranked first in his programme for three consecutive years and received numerous accolades, including the National Scholarship and the Award of “Excellent Graduate in Sichuan Province”, among others.
In 2023, Xi ventured into the field of embodied intelligence, co-founding Beijing ROBOTERA Technology Co., Ltd. The Company has secured over 100 million yuan in angel funding led by Lenovo Capital, and nearly 300 million yuan in Pre-A round financing backed by investors including Crystal Stream Capital, Alibaba, and Vision+ Capital. In August 2024, the Company launched its robot SATR1, which demonstrated remarkable off-road mobility, achieving a running speed of 3.6 meters per second—currently the fastest speed ever recorded for a full-sized humanoid robot in outdoor running.
