Students from the School of Information Science and Technology won 2 first prizes, 1 second prize and 1 third prize at the final of the 15th National University Students Intelligent Car Race sponsored by Chinese Association of Automation and held at Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology.
Supported by the Ministry of Education and open to college students of the whole country, the Competition aims at promoting the development of smart cars and exploration of engineering practices and covers a wide range of disciplines and subjects such as automatic control, pattern recognition, sensor technology, electronics, electrical engineering, computer science, mechanical and auto engineering, etc. On this platform of multidisciplinary creativity, students can obtain their preliminary experience of the whole project delivery process from design to production and enhance their senses of enterprise and innovation.
Despite of the impact of the epidemic, the teachers and students involved went all out for this competition since July 4 when the schedule for preliminaries was published. The Dean’s Office and the School of Information Science and Technology set up a team of supervisors headed by Profs. Jiang Chaogen, offered training sessions, and selected students to participate in the provincial and regional preliminaries during the summer vacation, thus paving the way for the outstanding achievements at the national final.
