TU Dresden, a new partner of paramount importance!

Southwest Jiaotong University recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Technische Universität Dresden (TU Dresden), a world-famous university in Dresden, Germany. Four schools at SWJTU, including the School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Electrical Engineering, School of Information Science and Technology, and School of Transportation and Logistics, have established "many-to-one" cooperative relationship with "Friedrich List" Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences at TU Dresden, and will collaborate in their respective fields with the new partner on joint academic programs, researches,  exchanges of academics and scholars, and other academic events, epitomizing the latest achievement of our cooperation with world-class universities as well as further enhancement of Sino-German relationship.

“This cooperation agreement is an honour and a great benefit for the 'Friedrich List' Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences – but above all, it is also an international confirmation and recognition of our excellent research work around the topics of transport and mobility in all its facets,” said the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Günther Prokop.

Despite of disruptions and inconveniences brought about by the Pandemic, the University initiated a series of changes to the traditional mode of international exchanges and explored different ways such as online meetings to continue and maintain international cooperation. Since September 2020, SWJTU and TU Dresden teams have stepped up their efforts in promoting the cooperation between the two universities and bringing benefits to both the faculty and students. After the signing of the MOU, the two universities will keep on advancing exchanges and implementing the programs.

To brave the challenges in future, the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges, in collaboration with world-class universities and research institutions, will strive to pool and assemble international excellent educational resources for the development of "double first-class" university, provide more opportunities for our students to receive quality international education, and build multiple international platforms for high-level academic exchanges and research cooperation.


About Technische Universität Dresden

Technische Universität Dresden is one of the largest industrial engineering universities in Germany and plays an exemplary role in Germany and even in Europe.
