On 13 January 2022, SWJTU's Geosciences have entered the top 1% of the ESI world ranking for the first time, according to the latest edition of Clarivate Analytics' Essential Science Indicators (ESI) database (covering the period from 1 January 2011 to 31 October 2021).
As of January 2022, six disciplines of the University, including Engineering, Computer Science, Materials Science, Chemistry, Social Sciences and Geosciences, have been ranked in the top 1% of the global ESI.
As being indicated in the statistical data, 776 geosciences papers of the University were published in SCI and SSCI journals during the statistical period, with a total of 6,985 citations and an average of 9.00 citations per paper, and among them, seven are highly cited papers.
