In January 2022, 35 people throughout China were enlisted among the tenth group of “National Engineering Investigation and Design Master” nominated by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People’s Republic of China. Seven of them are the alumni of Southwest Jiaotong University. 

They are:

Zhang Haibo, class of 1983, the Programme of Tunnel and Underground Railway;

Wu Kefei, class of 1984, the Programme of Railway Transportation;

Chen Chujiang, awarded bachelor’s degree in Railway Aerosurveying in 1986 and master’s in Railway Engineering in 1989;

Yu Songwei, awarded bachelor’s degree in Railway Electrical Engineering in 1987 and master’s in Electrical Engineering;

Yu Yu, class of 1988, the Programme of Tunnel and Underground Railway;

Zhang Lu, class of 1991, the Programme of Bridge Engineering;

Zhang Chunsheng, awarded master’s degree in Bridge Tunnel Engineering in 1993.

The nomination of National Engineering Investigation and Design Master, the most prestigious title in engineering investigation and design industry, is the highest level of accreditation for the top intellectuals who have made outstanding academic and technical achievements in the field. Up to date, the University has 38 alumni nominated as Investigation and Design Master of National Engineering.
