Recently, Assistant Professor Luo Huajiang from the School of Economics and Management published a paper online entitled “Information Sharing Between Competitors with Endogenous Production Timing” in Production and Operations Management, a leading business journal in the UTD 24 Journal List.

The paper challenges traditional theories that in the Cournot duopoly model, firms are reluctant to share demand information with their competitors because demand information sharing leads to simultaneous adjustment of operational decisions, thus intensifying competition between firms. However, empirical evidence suggests that demand information sharing among competitors is common. It also explores the motivations behind such information sharing among competitors and its impact on production timing strategies.

UTD 24 is a list issued by the University of Texas at Dallas of 24 academic journals in business, covering major programmes in business schools. Widely recognized by universities worldwide, it serves as a primary criterion for business school rankings, faculty promotion evaluations, talent assessment programs and projects, etc.
