About the Lecture:
The thriving of ICT not only bolsters the progress of translation technology, but also poses great challenges to translation practitioners. Cornered by increasing improvement in readability of machine translated texts, translators are compelled to enhance their competitiveness and present their translations in a more attractive way. Consequently, translation readability becomes the major concern of both the project managers and clients, and exerts considerable pressure on the translators themselves. Starting from five symptoms of poor readability in translation, this lecture provides corresponding solutions with practical examples to help translators or students of translation effectively get rid of rigid translation and revitalize their own work.
