Recently, Chinese Academy of Sciences Academician Zhai Wanming published his monographVehicle-Track Coupled Dynamics: Theory and Applications in the global market via Springer, a world known scientific and technological journal and publisher.
The book systematically introduces the theory system, modeling approach, numerical implementation method, filed test and typical engineering application cases of vehicle-track coupled dynamics. The vehicle-track coupled dynamics theory considers vehicle system and track system an overall interactive broad system based on the wheel-rail interaction relationship. It is essentially different from traditional vehicle system dynamics and track dynamics. This new theory gives a more complete and accurate solution to the core problem of the railway system, especially in the interaction between high-speed, heavy-haul trains and track dynamics. The theory has been widely used in the railway engineering sector.
The theory has exerted significant influences at home and abroad since its inception. So far, Dr. Zhai has published 4 Chinese editions of the monograph that have been cited for thousands of times. His core English paperFundamentals of Vehicle-Track Coupled Dynamicswas selected as a highly cited paper in ESI and has been cited for over 170 times in SCI since its publication in October 2009. This paper has also been cited for over 350 times in Google Scholar and long stayed on the first place of the list of Most Cited Articles in Vehicle System Dynamics, a journal of the International Association for Vehicle System Dynamics.
