SWJTU faculty wins “2019 State Scientific and Technological Progress Award”

The award ceremony of the "2019 State Scientific and Technological Progress Award" was solemnly held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on January 10, 2020. Two achievements led and completed by Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU) won the awards. The ProjectKey Technologies for Construction and Safe Operation of Large-scale Tunnel Groups on Expressways in Complicated and Dangerous Mountainous Areasled by Professor He Chuan, won the first firze of the "State Scientific and Technological Progress Award" and the ProjectKey Safety Guarantee Technologies and Engineering Application of the Interaction Between Heavy Haul Train and Tracksled by researcher Wang Kaiyun won the second prize of the "State Scientific and Technological Progress Award".

  

This is the third time that SWJTU has won the first prize of the "State Scientific and Technological Progress Award", after the honors in 1999 and 2005 respectively, and it is another major national scientific and technological award won by SWJTU.

The "State Scientific and Technological Progress Award" is awarded once a year and the total number of awards it grants each year does not exceed 300. 296 projects were awarded the "State Scientific and Technological Progress Award"in 2019, including 46 projects awarded the "State Natural Science Award", 65 projects winning the "State Technological Invention Award" and 185 projects gaining the "State Scientific and Technological Progress Award".
