27 May, 2020 saw the University of Leeds’s prestigious Partnership Awards move online for the first time in an online ceremony presented via Twitter. The School of the Year went to SWJTU-Joint School, a collaboration between the Southwest Jiaotong University and the University of Leeds.
Tom Ward, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Education) of the University of Leeds, announced at the online Partnership Awards ceremony on May 27 that the School of the Year of 2020 went to SWJTU-Leeds Joint School.
In the announcement Tom Ward said, “The partnership judging panel has made an award for the school of the year. This is a category which is not always given, but the awarded has been made to a school based on the exceptional scale and scope of partnership working evident in its 160 nominations, the most of any school in the university. These nominations were for academics, student education services staff, and student representatives across the school. It is clear that partnership working is embedded in this school at every level, and we recognize both collaborative working and the achievements of staff, students, and postgraduate researchers through this award.”
The University of Leeds’s annual Partnership Awards celebrate the achievements of both staff and students who truly put The Leeds Partnership into practice: reflecting in their teaching, projects, and behaviour, the values of The Leeds Partnership that are so essential to the student experience at Leeds.
