SWJTU project supported by the Belt & Road Initiative, CAST

In a recently-published list of projects supported by the Belt & Road Initiative International Cooperation Platform Program 2020, CAST (China Association for Science and Technology) officially announced its approval of the grant to SWJTU’s project of “the Belt and Road Initiative Research/Training Center Co-founded by International Organizations of Science and Technology”, the proposal of which was submitted by the University’s International Academic Organization Research Center in collaboration with the International Union of Railways (UIC) and the EcoMobility Alliance at Germany.

Over 400 universities and research institutions submitted their applications for the support under the Program and a total of 62 projects were approved nationwide. SWJTU’s project is the only one selected among all the counterparts proposed by the universities and colleges in Southwest China.

The Proposed Center will, by fully utilizing the University’s prestigious and distinctive resources in rail transit field, collaborate with the international organizations of science and technology in the countries along the Belt and Road, especially the ones of integrated transportation systems such as the UIC and EcoMobility Alliance, and establish an open and inclusive platform for international academic exchanges.
