Two SWJTU teams scooped their respective national first prizes at the final of the 7th National Contest on Logistics Design by University Students (NCLDUS) held in Beijing from April 22 to 25. 

In addition, one of the two named “E Zhou Yun Yun” was granted the “Most Valuable Business Award”, its five member students were accepted into the Special Talent Direct Admission Scheme, and the supervisors, Profs. Wang Kun and Wu Yu, nominated “Excellent Supervisor” at the Contest. The University ranks first in the nation with two grand slams. The Contest is sponsored by China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing and hosted by Beijing Wuzi University. Sinotrans Limited provided cases for support and acted as the title sponsor.

The National Contest on Logistics Design by University Students, as a “Quality Engineering” competition approved by the Ministry of Education, is currently the most professional and authoritative logistics contest for college students in China, as well as an important event included in the National University Student Competition Ranking List. A total of 1,062 teams registered for the Competition, and 656 teams among them from more than 300 universities entered the extremely fierce and large-scale competition after qualification screening, hitting a record high in number. After the preliminary, 349 teams progressed to the semi-finals.       

The team “E Zhou Yun Yun” is supervised by Prof. Wang Kun from the School of Transportation and Logistics and composed of five students including Xiang Yunhai, Gao Jiaying, Wu Xuekai, Shao Jie and Qian Zelin. The other one, “Jiao Zhen Rong Yu”, under the guidance of Prof. Wu Yu from the same school, is made up of another five including He Yuxin, Hu Jian, Feng Qian, Feng Yuexin and Jiang Le. On behalf of the University, the two teams fully demonstrated their understanding of the discipline, especially the different sectors of logistics industry, and were highly recognized by the judges of the Contest. Their innovative ability, professional level, scientific and systematic plan, distinctive presentations and defenses, exquisite and standard works reflect the quality and level of academic training at Southwest Jiaotong University in its pursuit of “double first-class” goals.
