On September 29, delegates from Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU) and the Department of Standardization and Metrology (DOSM) at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Laos signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Railway Technical Standards and Verification online.

Yang Dan, President of SWJTU, Viangthong Vongthavilay, Director of DOSM, and Ou Hailin, Deputy Director of Administration for Market Regulation of Sichuan Province, attended and spoke at the signing ceremony.

Against the backdrop of the smooth operation of China-Laos Railway, the signing of such a memorandum signifies a great step forward towards the objectives in the Belt and Road Initiative (B&R) and Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).
