Three projects enlisted in 2021 - 2035 National Master Plan for the Preservation of Ancient Books
Recently, three publishing projects of Southwest Jiaotong University Press (SWJTUP) were included in the first batch of 421 key projects under 2021 – 2035 National Master Plan for the Preservation of Ancient Books released by a national leading group in charge of the classification and publishing of ancient books.
SWJTUP ranked among the top in university publishing houses with the three entries in the National Master Plan, namely, “Notes on Salt Production and Processing in Qing Dynasty (Volume 1)”, “Summary of Historical Records on Cinnabar in China” and “Selected Historical Records on Land Transport in China”.
Focusing on the university’s distinctive strength in civil engineering and transportation, the Press has for long worked on the collation and preservation of ancient books, and developed different publication sectors including “Ancient books of Science and Technology”, “Ancient Books of Communication and Transportation”, “Archives of Local Characteristics”, “Ancient Books of Minority Ethnic Groups”, etc. Many projects have won the support of National Press Fund and national grants for preservation of ancient books and ethnic minority characters.
