The Third China Railway Development Forum

The 3rd China Railway Development Forum was held on Xipu campus in Chengdu and another venue in Beijing from November 17 to 18. Nearly 10,000 participants attended the forum online under the support of People’s Railway Daily, Journal of the China Railway Society, Chinese Railways and High-Speed Railway Technology. The event was jointly sponsored by Southwest Jiaotong University, China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group Co., Ltd. and China Railway Society.

Experts, technical backbones and young workers from universities, research institutes, enterprises and institutions feasted on this grand gathering. Speakers of honour included Wang Tongjun, Vice General Manager of China State Railway Group Co., Ltd., Lu Chunfang, Director of the Engineering Management Division of Chinese Academy of Engineering, He Huawu, former Vice President of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Li Shucai, Du Xiuli, and Gao Zongyu, academicians of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Zhai Wanming, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Wang Shunhong, Secretary of the CPC Southwest Jiaotong University Committee.

This forum focused on the development of fundamental research and new technology of high-speed railway, and 12 academicians and experts delivered keynote speeches.

On November 18, “Youth Science and Technology Development Forum — Fundamental Research on High-speed Railway” was unveiled and Researcher Jing Lin, Professor Fang Yong, Professor Hu Haitao and other experts from Southwest Jiaotong University made presentations on specific topics.
