According to the result released by Chinese Institute of Electronics on March 8^th, Hu Wenshuai, the author of the thesis entitled “Classification of Hyperspectral Remote Sensing Images Based on Convolutional Long-Short Term Memory Network”, received the Excellent Ph.D. Thesis Award. He is a Ph.D. graduate at the School of Information Science and Technology, Southwest Jiaotong University, and supervised by Professor Li Hengchao. In addition, Li Xun, a master graduate supervised by Associate Professor Wu Qiang, also won the Excellent Master Thesis Award for his thesis entitled “High Precision and Low Cost AC-DC Single Power Control Chip”. Most importantly, Hu is the first one awarded the Excellent Ph.D. Thesis Award from Chinese Institute of Electronics in the history of the University.

Chinese Institute of Electronics’ review and evaluation of excellent Ph.D./master thesis aim to promote technological progress and innovation in electronic information field and to foster the growth of young talents. In this regard, 25 excellent Ph.D. theses and 25 excellent master theses are selected after procedures like formal review, expert letter review, expert panel review, etc.

The prestigious awards won by Hu and Li epitomize the progress of postgraduate talent cultivation at the School of Information Science and Technology, which is dedicated to the continuous exploration of frontier knowledge and strengthening of research training to enhance the original innovation capability of graduate students.
