On February 27, the opening ceremony of the training program for operation and maintenance personnel of the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway was held in Madiun, Indonesia. More than 200 trainees began to engage in the four-month online courses offered by Southwest Jiaotong University.

The Jakarta-Bandung high-speed line is the first of its kind in both Indonesia and Southeast Asia. In accordance with the demands, SWJTU has been implementing the training program since 2021 and obtained the administrative approval of the relevant competent departments of the Indonesian government thanks to its professionalism and efficiency in the related field.

In recent years, the University has successively completed the training programs for many railways, such as the Mombasa–Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway, Addis Ababa–Djibouti Railway and China-Laos Railway, contributing to the high-quality development under the Belt and Road Initiative.
