A groundbreaking study entitled “Recent gains in global terrestrial carbon stocks are mostly stored in non-living pools”, co-authored by Professor Li Xiaojun from the School of Geosciences and Engineering, Southwest Jiaotong University was published on leading international journal Science on March 20. This interdisciplinary research emerges as a fusion of remote sensing, ecology, and related fields, representing collaborative efforts by seven institutions, including SWJTU, California Institute of Technology, French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food, and Environment (INRAE), and the Climate and Environmental Science Laboratory of the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA).
