SWJTU’s Supporting Institution (Lead): School of Transportation and Logistics

In 2007, the Comprehensive Transportation Key Laboratory of Sichuan Province was approved by Science & Technology Department of Sichuan Province, and in 2011, Sichuan Engineering Laboratory of Integrated and Intelligent Transportation was approved by Sichuan Development and Reform Commission. On this basis, via integration of scientific research resources, the National United Engineering Laboratory of Integrated and Intelligent Transportation was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission and initiated in 2012.

At present, the laboratory owns 22 high-level experimental systems for HSR integrated dispatching and command, computer-aided train working diagram, decentralized autonomous CTC, urban traffic signal control, driving behavior simulation, etc., which will, through the construction of integrated transportation and logistics basic information platform, integrated transportation and modern logistics technology R&D and application platform, focus on the research and development of key technologies for the construction of basic information platforms for integrated transportation and the Internet of Things, key technologies for planning of digital integrated transportation system, key technologies for rail transit operation management, key technologies for intelligent management and control of urban traffic, key technologies for integrated operation of comprehensive transportation hubs, key technologies for integrated transportation safety monitoring, and key technologies for IoT based logistics system management, so as to build a domestically leading and global first-class engineering laboratory with outstanding innovative capability and remarkable achievements in integrated and intelligent transportation technologies. The laboratory will become an information hub, an intelligent decision support center, and a base for technology research, achievement transformation, and talent cultivation to promote integrated transportation and logistics development in China, especially in western China.

The laboratory owns a high-level scientific research team of 60 members, who, in the past five years, have achieved fruitful research results on intelligent TWD development, HSR dispatching and command, key technologies of intelligent transportation system (ITS), planning of comprehensive transportation hub, key technologies of intelligent logistics system, etc. The laboratory has undertaken more than 200 national, provincial, and ministerial-level projects and won 16 awards of provincial, ministerial and higher levels.
