National Rail Transit Electrification and Automation Engineering Technique Research Center
SWJTU’s Supporting Institution (Lead): School of Electrical Engineering
The National Rail Transit Electrification and Automation Engineering Technique Research Center (“the Center”) was approved and launched in 2009, accepted by MOST in 2012 as ranking the first in public welfare category, and is currently the only national engineering technology research and development platform in the rail transit electrification and automation field.
The Center, with emphasis on the core and key technologies of rail transit electrification and automation, carries out research and development (R&D) of engineering technologies, innovation by systematic integration, incubation and industrialization of S&T achievements and products, talent cultivation for engineering technologies, and social services from seven aspects: (1) ISCS technology for rail transit power supply; (2) integrated automation technology of traction substation; (3) HSR co-phase power supply technology; (4) fault diagnosis and detection technology for electrical equipment; (5) energy saving and new-energy rolling stock technology; (6) train network and vehicle control, detection, and diagnosis technology; (7) rail transit simulation training system.
The Center owns a nationwide first-class technical R&D team led by academician Qian Qingquan and incorporating over 20 experts and professors as its backbone members, and has built such major R&D platforms as “R&D and test platform for power supply ISCS of HSR”, “R&D and test platform for automation system of HSR traction substation”, and “R&D and test platform for driving simulation system of rail transit”. It has undertaken a large number of national, provincial, and ministerial-level key research projects and major engineering projects, and has made numerous innovative achievements. Since the “12th Five-Year Plan”, the Center has won 2 second prizes of National Science and Technology Progress Award and a dozen of ministerial science and technology progress awards at its host.
