The electricity in China is 220V, 50HZ. A transformer is needed if it is different with your country. As the shape of a socket varies between countries, a portable plug adaptor may also be necessary. 6.Money Exchange and Banks

You can change money upon arrival at the international airport of Chengdu. The Bank of China exchanges money and traveler’s checks. In China, whenever you exchange money the same day, the exchange rate is the same. The Banking Hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm. Not all banks will change traveler’s checks. Please make an appointment with the bank if you need to exchange a large amount of money.

You can use a VISA card or MASTER card to pay for anything at a Visa& Master Supporting POS machine.

Please give a one inch identification photo to the student coordinator when you register at the SIE Office. You will get your student card after 2 or 3 weeks.

Please pre-register online first and remember your account name (*账号名). Then visit the internet center to pay the internet fee and show them your account name.They have 5 kinds of internet services to choose.

10. E-card

Student E-card can be used at the student canteens, to pay internet fees, public baths, the gate of International Students Dormitory and Library. The card is very useful and necessary.

How to set E-card Limit？

The card may be swiped up to 30 Yuan once. You need to provide the card password if the card is swiped up to 30 Yuan. Please reset your new password as soon as possible.

How to reset password？

The card’s initial password is the last 6 numbers of your student ID card number. We suggest you to reset your password after you get your card immediately in case the lost card is used by others.

1、You may reset your card on the self-service machines at the first floor of Library (E-card Center)::insert the card→ E-card self-service(一卡通自助业务)→ revise the parameter(修改参数)→ reset the inquiry password(修改查询密码或消费密码)→ input the old password(输入旧密码)→ input the new password(输入新密码)→successful(修改密码成功).

2 You may also reset your password at the front desk of the first floor of the Library (E-card and Center) with your Student Number or Passport.

Note: please pay attention when you reset your password: do not let others peep or know your new password to make sure it is safe.

How to recharge your card？

Use a ICBC card to recharge on the self-service machines on the first floor of Library or student canteens (E-card Center)

How to reapply for a new card？

Please take your student ID card and passport to go to the E-card center and reapply new one. A new card fee is needed.

Note: When you pick up a lost card, you should hand it in to the E-card Center or International Students Office or find ways to return it to the user. The university has the right to discipline those persons who use others’ cards and cause economic loss to others.

13.Transportation

➢ Chengdu Transportation Card---Tianfutong (天府通) is convenient and popular in Chengdu. The card is widely used for payments on local buses and Metro lines.

➢ You can also install an APP called天府通in your phone to pay buses and metros. But you need to apply on-line payment such as Wechat Pay or Alipay at first.

Taking a taxi is a fast and convenient way to get around Chengdu. Taxi service in the city is well-managed while traffic jam is common in rush hour.

2.）Bus

Public buses in Chengdu are often crowded, but they are the most convenient and relatively cheap way to travel. There are more than 800 bus lines in Chengdu which run into each corner of the city. Fares range from 1yuan to 2yuan depending on the bus conditions.

3.）Metro

As a convenient and fast way, Metros are popular in cities now. Fares range from 2yuan to 6yuan depending on the length of the routes.

Xipu Campus is the terminal stop of No.2 Metro Line.

Note: public buses and Metros in China are often crowded and Chengdu is no exception. If you choose to take a bus or metro to travel around, please pay attention to your belongings because pickpockets usually take advantage of the crowded condition to steal stuff.

4.）Train and High-speed Train

The city of Chengdu has several railway stations, among which is North Railway Station, East Chengdu Railway Station and South Railway Station are the main ones. These three stations provide convenient transportation for tourists to many destinations throughout China.

Buying Train Tickets and High-speed Train Tickets

Tickets for trains departing from Chengdu are sold 15 days before the departure day. You can go directly to the ticket office at Railway Station to buy it. For additional information you can also buy the ticket at any Train Ticket Sales Agency.

Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport has more than 160 domestic airlines. and more than 80 international airlines. This has led to the production of the largest air transportation hub in Western China. There are two terminals. T2 is for international air lines.

c. Airport Shuttle: take Metro Line 2 to Tianfu Squire Station and transfer Line1to Jinjiang Hotel, on the opposite of the Hotel is the airport shuttle, which arrives at the airport directly. (10yuan/seat)

From Jiuli Campus:

a. Taxi: about 100 yuan

b. Metro: take Line 7 from Jiulidi(South Gate of Jiuli campus) to Taipingyuan, and then transfer Line 10 to T1 or T2. (about 6 yuan)
