Southwest Jiaotong University secured a national first prize for the first time and made brilliant breakthrough at the 14th Chinese Collegiate Computing Competition held from July to August 2021. In addition, the University won 11 national second prizes and 7 third prizes, and the number of awards obtained doubled compared with those at the 13th competition, ranking at the top of all the participating universities and colleges. The first prize went to "Intelligent Public Transport Marshalling Scheme Based on Vehicle Networking Technology" devised under the supervision of Profs. Zou Yingquan and Lv Biao from the School of Information Science and Technology, and the University was also granted the “Excellent Organization Award”.
Opening Ceremony
Included in the authorized ranking list of national academic competitions for college and university students, “Chinese Collegiate Computing Competition” is among the earliest and most prestigious ones, covering the widest range of programmes and disciplines and benefiting the largest number of students. The national finals of the 14th Competition were held in 6 zones at different times and encompassed subjects of 14 categories such as "Software Application and Development", "Micro Course and Teaching Assistance", "Internet of Things Application", "Big Data Application", and "Artificial Intelligence Application".
20 pieces of the University progressed into the national finals and 19 won the awards among over 5,100 pieces of work from 800 universities shortlisted. The University’s award-winning rate at the Competition reached a historical new high of 95%, and that of the first and second prizes 60%, far exceeding the national average award-winning rate of 80% and that of 30% for first and second prizes (the first prize award-winning rate is generally less than 5% and the second is less than 25% nationwide).
