Keynote Speech Staged by President Yang Dan at the China-UK Higher Education Seminar

At the China-UK Seminar on Higher Education held online on the afternoon of November 9, Yang Dan, President of Southwest Jiaotong University, delivered a keynote speech entitled “Promoting Integrated and Interconnected Development for a Shared Future and Win-win Cooperation and Initiating a New Mode of Online Education in the Post-COVID-19 Era”.

Yang first introduced about the University and its achievements in international exchange and cooperation. Following the presentation of his views and proactive thoughts on the global changes in higher education online against the backdrop of pandemic, he shared with the audience the innovative measures taken by the university, especially the specific moves of SWJTU-Leeds Joint School in the wake of COVID-19.

This seminar was organized by China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) in tandem with Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) in the UK. Focusing on “Opportunities and Challenges of Online Education”, speeches were given and discussions held among the participants from the Ministry of Education and universities such as Southwest Jiaotong University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, the University of Nottingham and University of Glasgow.
