IET Academic Accreditation for Electronic and Electrical Engineering programme at the SWJTU-Leeds Joint School

From 18th to 21st October, the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) conducted international accreditation of engineering education for the Programme of Electronic and Electrical Engineering of the SWJTU-Leeds Joint School.

The expert accreditors consist of Chris Guy, member of IET Academic Accreditation Committee, John Davies, Chiew Foong Kwong, IET academic accreditors, and Lorna Hadfield, IET International Accreditation Manager. The accreditation was carried out both on and off line. Chiew Foong Kwong, on behalf of accreditors, visited the Joint School, and other members carried out accreditation online. The accreditation is the first trial made by IET in China. 

The SWJTU-Leeds Joint School, approved by Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, is a partnership between the University of Leeds and Southwest Jiaotong University to provide high-achieving students in China with the opportunity to benefit from an outstanding education and an exceptional student experience. Four degree programmes of the Joint School, namely, BSc Computer Science, BEng Civil Engineering with Transport, BEng Electronic and Electrical Engineering and BEng Mechanical Engineering, combine the best aspects of the UK and the Chinese education systems, ensuring that when students graduate they will be uniquely qualified to work effectively within industries around the world.
