On the afternoon of December 24, an online meeting between Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU) and the National University of Laos (NUOL) was held to discuss matters related to the co-founding of the Laos Inspection and Certification Center. This move is a response to the invitation from the Ministry of Science and Technology of Lao People's Democratic Republic following the operation of China-Laos Railway built in accordance with Lao National Railway Standards prepared with the aid of SWJTU.

Houngphet CHANTHAVONG, Vice President of NUOL, and Zhu Minhao, Executive Vice Dean of the Institute of Transportation Safety Technology at SWJTU, spoke at the meeting. The two sides reviewed the details of cooperation and reached consensus.

SWJTU administered and coordinated all efforts to co-found China-Laos Inspection and Certification Center, which will promote interconnectivity of railway infrastructure facilities of the two countries and support safe operation of China-Laos Railway.
