Star Shining Bright Above: Strengthening-toughening and Functionalizing of Polymeric Materials

On March 25th, 2022, the Sichuan Provincial Science and Technology Awarding Conference was held in Chengdu. Prof. Wang Yong’s team at the School of Materials Science and Engineering won the second prize of 2021 Sichuan Technological Invention Award with their project of “Technologies and Applications of Strengthening-toughening and Functionalizing Multicomponent Polymeric Materials”.

They invented the interface selective distribution control technology of toughening multicomponent polymeric materials of inorganic particle, and solved the problem of mutual restriction of multicomponent materials strengthening and toughening.

Team Introduction: In 2020, Wang Yong’s Team was nominated as the Young Scientific and Technological Innovation Research Team of Sichuan Province, specializing in the structural design and performance modulation of advanced multicomponent polymeric materials and the related application researches in energy, environment purification and other fields. The Team has presided over more than 40 research projects, including 9 projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, and published more than 280 papers in the journals of Prog. Poly. Sci., Macromolecules, Chem. Sci and 4 highly cited papers in ESI. Moreover, this Team applied for and was awarded 32 national invention patents, and won the second prize of Sichuan Provincial Science and Technology Award under the Category of Natural Science in 2018 and the second prize again under the Category of Technological Invention in 2021.
