184, a new record for the projects sponsored by National Natural Science Foundation

Southwest Jiaotong University has outperformed itself again in the award of projects and funding sponsored by National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) in the same period in its history according to the appraisal results published by NSFC on September 8 for project applications collected in 2022. Excellent Young Scientists Fund was also granted to the University’s three disciplines of Transportation and Vehicle Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Mechanics respectively at this time.

Up to date, the University has received grants for 184 projects, an increase of 9.52% compared with the same period in 2021, and direct funds amounting to RMB 92.81 million, an increase of 18.70% compared with the same period in 2021. The overall project funding rate of all its applications is 26.25%, which is nearly ten percentage points higher than the national average of 16.73%, including the funding rate of 35.5% for the Young Scientists Fund, which is two times of the national average.
