IAAM Young Scientist Medal to Liu Kai

Liu Kai, a doctoral candidate of Class 2023 under the supervision of Researcher Jing Lin at the State Key Laboratory of Traction Power, Southwest Jiaotong University, was recently invited to deliver online a presentation entitled “Bamboo-inspired Energy-absorbing Tubes Used for Rail Vehicles” at the “European Assembly of Advanced Materials Congress” held in Sweden, and was awarded the IMMA Young Scientist Medal for his innovation work in the field of “structural analysis and design”.


International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM), founded in 2010 and headquartered in Sweden, is an international academic organization committing to providing platform for the global development of advanced materials science, engineering and technology. Today, the Association has registered over 50,000 members from more than 125 countries. “IAAM Young Scientist Medal” is awarded to young and emerging researchers with excellent performance and potentiality in materials science, engineering and technology.
