On November 3^rd 2022, the latest list of the top 2% scientists worldwide was released by Standford University in collaboration with Elsevier in September 2022 data-update for “Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators”.

48 faculty members of Southwest Jiaotong University including Academician Zhai Wanming and Academician Shen Zhiyun were nominated in the “single recent year impact list” of the top 2% World’s scientists, and 99 in the “career-long impact list”. The former list reveals the results of survey on the comprehensive academic influence of scientists during their career while the latter focuses on the latest year’s data on their academic influence.

Scientists worldwide are categorized into 22 fields and 174 sub-fields in the lists. Research interests of the enlisted teachers of the University cover diverse fields such as Chemistry, Economics & Business, Enabling & Strategic Technologies, Engineering, Information & Communication Technologies and Physics & Astronomy. The nomination in the lists not only attests the research competence of these teachers but also recognizes the achievements of the University’s faculty and discipline development.
