The 3rd International Workshop on Evacuated Tube Maglev Transport, one of the parallel forums of the 2023 World Transport Convention (WTC2023), was held on June 15 at the China Optics Valley Convention & Exhibition Center in Wuhan, Hubei Province, and co-hosted by the Academic Sub-Committee of the WTC, Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU), and China Railway Siyuan Survey and Design Group CO., LTD.
More than 100 experts and scholars in the field of maglev transportation, including SUN Yongfu, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Railways, and GUANG Zhenxiong, vice president and chief engineer of China Railway Siyuan Survey and Design Group CO., LTD., attended the forum.
This forum was presided over by ZHANG Weihua, chief professor of SWJTU and chair of the WTC Rail Transit Academic Sub-Committee. DENG Zigang, deputy director of the Ultra-High Speed Evacuated Tube Maglev Transportation Research Center and co-chair of the WTC Maglev Transportation Technical Committee, delivered a keynote speech.
The forum’s objective is to advance fundamental research, critical technologies, and platform development in the area of high-speed (pipeline) maglev transportation, which will promote the growth of future rail transit technologies. Participants from China, the United States, South Korea, Spain, and other nations gathered at the forum to perform an in-depth analysis of the research progress and development trends of high-speed (pipeline) maglev transportation and share the most recent research findings.
