The 4th International Forum on Structural Health Monitoring and Non-Destructive Testing

With the theme of “Progress of Structural health Monitoring and Non-destructive testing Technology in the era of Industry 4.0", the 4th International Forum on Structural Health Monitoring and Non-Destructive Testing (SHMNDT) was recently co-hosted by Southwest Jiaotong University, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China and Chengdu Lead Science & Technology Co., LTD. The Forum brought together industry leaders and experts from home and abroad and uncovered to them the latest advances in relevant technologies in the context of digital integration, connectivity and extensive networks, establishing a unique platform for the discussion of cutting-edge technology and practical experience in the field of structural health monitoring and nondestructive testing.

At the opening ceremony, Professor He Chuan, Vice President of Southwest Jiaotong University, and Professor Bernd Velaske, director of the German Franhofer Institute for Non-Destructive Testing delivered their speeches.

Later, keynote speeches were made respectively by Tian Guiyun, Professor of Newcastle University and University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Bernd Velaske, Director of the German Franhofer Institute for Non-Destructive Testing, Gao Hongli, Professor of Southwest Jiaotong University, and Dr. Johannes Vrana, Chairman of the World Organization for Non-Destructive Testing. They shared the cutting-edge scientific and technological viewpoints and engineering application cases of structural health testing and nondestructive testing technology.

After the keynote speeches, four parallel sessions were held, featuring SHM&NDT innovative methods, key international cooperation projects and rail transit NDT innovative technology respectively.
