Chengdu has recently witnessed the grand opening of the 11th International Bridge and Tunnel Technology Conference (IBTC). The Conference was jointly sponsored by China Railway Society, China Railway & Transportation Society, Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics and Engineering, Shanghai Society of Civil Engineering and co-hosted by Southwest Jiaotong University, Chongqing Jiaotong University and Tongji University.

Du Yanliang, Lu Chunfang and Zhang Xigang, academicians of Chinese Academy of Engineering, chaired the conference. More than 30 academicians from home and abroad and over 100 well-known industry experts attended the conference with other 1,000 participants at the scene and 100,000 online viewers. The opening ceremony was presided over by Du Yanliang, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering.
