At the 17th National College Student Innovation Annual Conference (NCSIAC) held from November 8 to 10, Dong Xiya and other students from the School of Transportation and Logistics, won the award of “Best Creative Concept Project” for their “Vehicle-mounted Drone Delivery Station”, completed under the supervision of Assistant Professor Guo Bo and within the framework of the National University Student Innovation & Entrepreneurship Development Program (NUSIEDP). Such an award stands for the highest honour of the conference (only 20 awards nationwide), marking SWJTU’s groundbreaking move in the NUSIEDP projects. Shortlisted for the display of reform achievements was another NUSIEDP project “Research on Rural Revitalization Strategies with the Utilization of Red Cultural Resources from a Design Perspective” by Chen Sinuo and other students under the guidance of Assistant Professor Du Jun from the School of Design.
Based on the resources of NUSIEDP, NCSIAC is an important annual exhibition and exchange event sponsored by the Ministry of Education and organized by the expert panel of NUSIEDP. The annual conference has selected 510 projects out of the 1006 projects recommended by the universities under the jurisdiction of Ministry of Education and local education authorities.
Student Research Training Program (SRTP) plays a vital role in developing students’ research and practical skills, tapping their innovation potentials and inspiring their ambitions of breakthroughs and entrepreneurship. As one of the first batch of universities to participate in CSIETPP at the national level, SWJTU has since 2006 selected more than 60,000 students and completed over 12,000 innovation projects at various levels, and its NUSIEDP projects have been chosen in NCSIAC for 17 consecutive years.
