On March 6, Brent White, Vice President of the University of Hawaii at Manoa, led a delegation to visit Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU). He Zhengyou, Vice President of SWJTU, welcomed the guests.
The two universities signed a memorandum of understanding in the presence of representatives from the School of Geosciences and Engineering, School of Physical Science and Technology, School of Public Administration, School of Foreign Languages, and the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges, who also briefed the visitors on the respective academic programs, disciplinary development, and the university’s internationalization efforts. During the meeting, participants discussed potential areas of collaboration, work progress, and the mutual introduction of academic courses between the two universities.
Following the meeting, Vice President White and his delegation visited the SWJTU-Leeds Joint School and toured around SWJTU’s Eastern (International) Campus, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the progress in the construction of the international campus.
