March 13, 2025 — The latest update to the Essential Science Indicators (ESI) database positions Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU) at 165th globally in Materials Science, up one spot from the previous ranking period. The discipline’s ESI percentile ranking concurrently advanced from 1.096‰ to 1.067‰. Over the past year, the global ranking of SWJTU’s Materials Science in ESI has shown a steady upward trajectory.
